Ponte Vedra Beach
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION . . .
Strategically located less than 25
miles from downtown Jacksonville, (home of the NFL Jaguars - one of the newest and best NFL
franchise expansion teams), with historic St. Augustine, our nation's
oldest city, only 25 miles to the south.
Approximately 25,000 residents call
this seaside community home. Ponte Vedra has become a favored bedroom
community for Jacksonville's corporate executives.
Golfer's paradise, with over 153
holes of championship golf and host to the ultimate golfing event
every March, one of the most prestigious PGA Tour events.
An average annual temperature
of
70 degrees, means most outdoor activities can be enjoyed
during the entire year. This is a major reason many new residents
move to Ponte Vedra. The lure of being on vacation year-round,
escaping from the chaotic pace and enjoying a higher standard of living has attracted many
buyers. Our unique location offers oceanfront swimming, sailing,
wind surfing, world-class tennis, and horseback riding. It is also a boater's paradise, with the Intracoastal Waterway, Atlantic Ocean and
magnificent St. John's River, which flows north through the middle of Jacksonville. The
only other river that flows north is the Nile. Outstanding fishing and sailing abound for
year-round water enthusiasts.
Tax advantages. Florida
does not have state income tax. The only two taxes in Florida
are real estate and sales tax on all purchases except food and
medicine. A permanent resident is eligible for a $25,000
exemption from city, county and school board assessed values.
This is referred to as a "Homestead Exemption." There
is no requirement for this exemption except the applicant must occupy
the home on January 1 of the tax year to qualify.
Superior Public Schools.
Ponte Vedra (St. Johns County) are nationally acclaimed with students
scores high, low teacher/student ratios and educational opportunities
equivalent to a private school education. Ponte Vedra's
strong community involvement and business partnerships (The Ponte
Vedra Educational Foundation) has ensured young citizens the greatest
of privileges with resources and innovative techniques that cater to
maximizing their academic success.
